Late Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani (Founder Chairman of Reliance Group)
Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani was a great contributor to the prodigal rise of India's economy. His unrelenting determination to empower the middle-class and rural India while simultaneously building the nation's largest private sector companies earned him numerous accolades. There was no better way to honour his achievements that changed the face of India than felicitating him with the Award of the Night.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Mohammad Al Zubair (Zubair Coorporation)
His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Al Zubair bin Ali has been an icon in Oman's development for over 40 years. His contributions to the Sultanate's growth have been tremendous both in the private sector and through his role in the government. The ABLF Lifetime Achievement Award (Gulf) was the best way to felicitate a true visionary like him.

Ratan Tata (Chairman - Tata Group)
Few people command the public respect and position as this iconic Asian whose gentle demeanour belies the cutting edge sharpness of a keen business mind that has led one of India's most celebrated business institutions for over 40 years. Mr Ratan Tata, Chairman of the Tata Group is the undisputed choice for the ABLF Lifetime Achievement Award (India). The stories of his integrity and philanthropy are legion, as are his business forays that have created national and international business history.

Gopinath Pillai (Executive Chairman - Savant Infocomm)
A member of the Steering Committee of the Indian Heritage Centre project and Chairman of its Concept and Content Sub-committee, Gopinath Pillai has varied interests in companies incorporated in Singapore, India, Mauritius and the U.K. He is the Chairman of Gateway DistriParks Limited, incorporated in India. Such remarkable achievements that have greatly contributed to the global economy deserve to be acknowledged and are praiseworthy. Mr Gopinath Pillai is truly deserving of the ABLF Lifetime Achievement Award (South-East Asia).

Hind Bahwan (Director - Suhail Bahwan Group)
In her capacity as Director of a multi-interest group, Hind Bahwan works with the government and other commercial companies in the joint pursuit of creating a digital society in Oman, effortlessly straddling a traditional and conventional social environment and a cutting edge modern world, thus embodying the qualities of the Woman of Power.

Chanda Kochhar (CEO and Managing Director - ICICI Bank)
Ms Chanda Kochhar is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Bank Limited. Over the years, she has successfully risen through the ranks by handling multidimensional assignments and heading all the major functions in the Bank at various points in time. She perfectly embodies the characteristics of innovation, excellence and perseverance that define the ABLF Woman of Power Award.

Olivia Lum (CEO and President - Hyflux Group of Companies)
Ms Olivia Lum Ooi Lin is the founder, Group Chief Executive Officer and President of multi-million dollar Hyflux Ltd. A leading Singapore-based water treatment company in Asia. She is the first woman to have won the Ernst and Young World Entrepreneur of the Year 2011. Ms Olivia Lum effortlessly embodies the ambitious and confident personality that defines an ABLF Woman of Power.

Salma Hareb (CEO - JAFZA and Economic Zones Worldwide)
Ms Salma Hareb is the first woman in the Middle East and North Africa to be appointed head of an economic free zone, thus serving as inspiration to generations of young women in the region. Persistence, composure and fortitude being the key facets of the ABLF Business Excellence Award, Ms Salma Hareb is a clear-cut paradigm of these qualities.

Shashi Ruia (Chairman - Essar Group)
Mr Shashi Ruia, Chairman of Essar Group, is a first generation industrialist. He has made invaluable contributions toward strengthening the core infrastructure sectors in India and has steered the Essar Group to a premier position in global industry. Such valuable contributions made to better the Indian economy earned the organization the ABLF Business Excellence Award 2011.

Stephen Lee (Chairman - Singapore Airlines)
Mr Stephen Lee Ching Yen is the Chairman of Singapore Airlines Ltd, Managing Director of Shanghai Commercial and Savings Bank Ltd (Taiwan) and Great Malaysia Textile Investments Pte Ltd. He is also the President of the Singapore National Employers Federation. The ABLF Business Excellence Award felicitates this organization which has taken the global economy to greater heights and assures determined returns.

BUSINESS COURAGE

Ghaith Al Ghaith (Chief Executive Officer - Flydubai)
Mr Ghaith Al Ghaith is the Chief Executive Officer of Dubai's first low cost airline, flydubai and is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the airline. The ABLF Business Courage Award is bestowed upon a formidable businessman who outlines the intrinsic qualities that Mr Ghaith Al Ghaith posesses.

A. M. Naik (Chairman and Managing Director - Larsen and Toubro)
Mr Anil M. Naik joined Larsen & Toubro (L&T) as a junior engineer and shortly became the youngest manager in Larsen & Toubro's history. Soon after, Mr Naik rapidly rose to positions of increasing responsibility as he moved from General Manager to Managing Director and CEO, culminating in his appointment as Chairman. The ABLF Business Courage Award is the perfect embodiment of Mr A. M. Naik's success, resilience and his sustained effort.

Gautam Thapar (Chairman and CEO - Avantha Group)
Mr Gautam Thapar is one of India's youngest and brightest global business leaders and the US$ 4 billion Avantha Group is one of India's leading business conglomerates. He is also the Chairman of The Aspen Institute India, which aims to internationalize India's business, political and cultural leadership. The ABLF Business Courage Award is the perfect way of giving back to such prodigious contributions made to the Indian economy.

George Tahija (President Director - Austindo Group)
Mr George S. Tahija is the President Director of PT. Austindo Nusantara Jaya (ANJ) and Chief Executive of the Austindo Group. ANJ, an Indonesian holding company wholly owned by the Tahija family, has investments in natural resources including food and energy, and in the financial and medical services sectors. Mr Tahija enjoys leading and developing the Group's culture, values, governance, businesses and social responsibility commitments, thus doing justice to the ABLF Business Courage Award.
